About Us
Our program covers the areas of Solvay, Geddes, Westvale, Onondaga Hill, Warners, Lakeland, Fairmount, Camillus and Marcellus.
We prepare and deliver 500 hot meals and an additional 250 bag lunches per week with the help of 190 volunteers and two employees. All dietary requirements are met on an individual basis and we honor individual food preferences. There is no age requirement or means testing. We serve those temporarily indisposed due to accident or surgery, the chronically ill, the homebound and seniors who need assistance. This program provides a way for people to live and stay in their own homes who otherwise would not be able to manage.
We do not receive federal fuding but choose to be self-supporting. Our meals are economically priced just to cover the cost of the food. In order to maintain our high standards and to keep our prices manageable for our clients, we sometimes have to subsidize some of the cost of meals. We rely on additional fundraisers and donations to buy more and better equipment and to help with the administration of our program.
